Dress Up Wings

My little man LOVES anything that flies, and will spend hours zooming circles around our playroom.
I decided he needed a proper set of wings to keep him airbound.

He calls these his "Buzz Lightyear wings".  (I know, not the right colors for Buzz, but hey!  He doesnt mind!)
And he LOVES them!
The best part?
The wings are made with a foam insert, so even though they stick out they don't hurt anyone or anything!

Most of the pics I've tried getting of him wearing them end up being a little something like this:

Man that kid is FAST.

I'm working on a tutorial for these, but if you're interested in a pair in the meantime, you can find a few in my Etsy shop, or email me arainydayplay@yahoo.com for a custom one!

Masks - The Mitten by Jan Brett

About a month ago, I hosted a playdate/storytime.
The theme was Snow, so of course we had to read:
To keep the kids' attention, I made masks for each of the animals that squeeze themselves into the mitten.
Of course, I was too busy reading the book to take pictures so I only have a few that my kids were willing to model for me.

The Owl

The hedgehog

The badger

I NEVER let my kids climb in trees, so they couldnt believe their ears when I asked them to get up there!  Not the greatest pic, but they thought it was fun!

One thing I learned when making these masks: MAKE THE EYEHOLES BIGGER!  Nothings worse than a mask that keeps slipping and covering your eyes!
